Mandatory Reporter violations

Oregon state law mandates that workers in certain professions make reports if they have reasonable cause to suspect abuse or neglect. These people are called mandatory reporters. When these individuals fail to uphold their duty to report, the consequences can be devastating because the abuse is allowed to continue.

Some examples of mandatory reporters include:

  • Medical personnel
  • Social Workers
  • School and child care personnel
  • Psychologists
  • DHS employees and other public employees
  • Law enforcement
  • Members of the clergy
  • Foster Care providers
  • Licensed marriage and family therapists
  • Attorneys
If a mandatory reporter failed to report suspected abuse of you of your child and the abuse continued as a result, you may have a claim for civil damages. Contact Long Law PC to assert your rights against the individuals and institutions who failed to protect you.
